| Calculating cable amperage |
|
To establish which amperage cable is required calculate
the sum of the wattage's that it will supply, |
| Square area of cable |

| Diameter of a cable |
|
To calculate the diameter of a conducter the following
formula should be applied: Sq Root of 4 x 1.5 divided by 3.142 (Pi) = Sq Root of 1.90961 = 1.38188 mm Rounded to 1.4 mm Note - There is a square root function available in the Windows calculator |
| What size cable do I want? |
|
To determine the size of cable required for replacement
purposes, carefully count the strands of the existing cable and then use
a micrometer to measure the size of a single strand. If there is no exact
equivalent the next larger size should be used.
